This morning the Full Court dismissed the appeal against the order releasing Mr Humphrys on licence.

As a consequence of an application made by me this morning, the Full Court also ordered that Mr Humphrys’ release occur in 14 days. Mr Humphrys consented to that order.

Last week Parliament passed amendments to the Sentencing Act, 2017 (“the amendments”).
Contrary to media reports, my application for Mr Humphrys to be released in 14 days was not in any way related to the amendments.
