The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is the State’s public prosecution service.  Established in 1992 by the Director of Public Prosecutions Act, 1991, the ODPP provides an effective, fair and independent criminal prosecution service for the people of South Australia.

We are committed to the highest ethical and professional standards and strive to achieve the most effective and appropriate criminal prosecutions.  Integral to that process, we adopt and implement the same set of values and standards, as outlined in the DPP Prosecution Policy and Guidelines when evaluating charges and conducting prosecutions.

Our decisions are made in accordance with the laws of South Australia and with respect to the legal processes that apply.
